The Slanted Door (take two)

wine: riesling, von schubert 2001 (aileen); ponzi, willamette valley, 2001 (me)
appetizer: Slanted Door Spring Rolls. The sauce that comes with it is really awesome.
salad: green papaya salad - tasted like the rainbow salad from Burma Superstar. A ton of ingredients that don't seem to go together, but somehow taste fresh and perfect.
main course: Meyer Ranch shaking beef. who hasn't had this before at slanted door? it's their specialty. Also had lemongrass tofu for the vegetable dish. tasted just like any old chinese dish in my opinion, but still good.
dessert: strawberry mousse with white chocolate cream and chocolate chip cookie/confection on top. barnone, the best dessert ever. i've never had a mousse that was made with fresh strawberries before. even though aileen was "so full," she said she could have "eaten 10 of them... which means it's THAT good."

highlights: really good service, not as fancy as some other places, but then again it didn't cost as much either. good location if you have the right seating. i think the food was better when i came here the first time with hayeun... but then again, i wasn't just coming from big nate's bbq.
